Hello, I’m Alan Mauger, owner of Agnes Meats. In 1965 my father, Elwin Mauger, purchased the shop from Paul Agnes (hence the name). I began working for my dad part-time in 1970 when I was 12 years old. I worked summer vacations and weekends until I graduated in 1976. After working full time in the business for 8 years I realized that I wanted to own it, and I purchased it from my father in 1984.
My parents taught me a very simple but effective business principle... Offer a quality product for a fair price and treat people with respect. That philosophy has kept this family owned business going strong for over 45 years!
We offer locally grown beef, pork and chicken. We are one of the few meat shops around that still purchases quarters of beef that are “dry aged” and then cut and processed in our shop by real butchers. And you can still ask for a special cut at our shop.
